For attorneys representing a recipient
How to get into your client's matter, ask for more time, read what the settlement agreement covers, and reach the claimant.
Full Access through your client's portal
Your client opens its portal with the access code from its letter and forwards the matter to you. It chooses Full Access, which lets you review, correspond and resolve the matter for the business, or read-only access.
With Full Access you see the letter, the evidence record and the deadline, and you can propose terms, request an extension, sign the agreement and arrange payment for your client.
Extensions
Ask in writing: by email to contact@privacyresolve.com, or with the deadline request in the portal under Full Access. State the date you need and the reason.
An extension takes effect only when the claimant confirms the new date in writing. Until then the deadline in the letter stands.
The evidence record
Your client's portal holds the evidence record for the matter: when the visit took place, the pages visited, and which third parties received data from the browser. With access you can review it and download the documents posted there.
Questions about the record go to contact@privacyresolve.com.
What the settlement agreement covers
A matter resolves with a written settlement agreement and mutual release. The claimant releases your client from the claims described in the letter and related claims through the agreement's effective date, and the release extends to your client's parents, subsidiaries, officers, employees and insurers. Your client releases the claimant in turn.
Both releases take effect when payment is received, not on signing. The agreement states the amount and the payment date, which is usually a few business days after the last signature. It states that it is not an admission of liability. Its terms are confidential, and either party may say the matter has been resolved.
Payment is made in the portal by ACH, or by bank transfer to the written instructions the claimant sends with the signed agreement, confirmed by phone at (888) 649-4500. Once payment clears, the matter is closed.
The agreement can be signed in the portal or exchanged as signed PDFs. If you prefer your own form, send it; the claimant answers it in writing.
